YOUMAN ARTIST

YOUMAN has been my pseudonym since 2008. I am a musician, composer and producer from Germany. The oldest surviving tape recording of me was made when I was already four years old playing the accordion. Over the years I learned a few instruments, mostly self-taught. Later, I took professional piano and organ lessons. In 2018, I rediscovered playing the accordion in a very modern way. Since then I have played it in several pop- and film music productions and also live on stage. A highlight was playing in Hamburg in February 2020 as a guest musician with the band ORANGE BLUE and Orchestra (known, among other songs, for playing music in various Hollywood productions). It was an incredible feeling to stand on this cult stage of the “Große Freiheit 36”, where greats such as The Beatles, Ed Sheeran, Robbie Williams and Coldplay have performed before. Influence & Collaborations I grew up with the music of Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, Ultravox, Kraftwerk and Jean-Michel Jarre, which clearly influenced me. However, my music is more inspired by current artists such as Glockenbach, Felix Jaehn and David Guetta. Over the years I have been able to work with some great artists, such as Peter Ries (No Angels, N'Sync, etc.) on film music projects, with Andy Biermann in the "GroovEmotions" project and with ORANGE BLUE we produced a joint track for the album WHITE | WEISS (number 48 in the German album charts in February 2020). My greatest teachers in the music business are Andreas Biermann, Peter Ries and the great Klaus Doldinger, which was a special honor for me. There were personal musical points of contact with all three of them that left a deep impression on me. Awards In fall 2021, I produced the soundtrack for the short film "Infinity + 1" by newcomer director Florian Janik Demmer. There was a certain budget for the music and I asked the production not to give my fee to me, but to those affected by the 2021 flood disaster in the Ahr Valley / North Rhine-Westphalia. I only mention this because fate felt it had to reward me suddenly and unexpectedly a few months later, even though I had no intention of receiving anything in return. In May 2022, I received the news of several gold and platinum nominations for this score. Shortly afterwards, I received the first international awards. In Berlin at the EMERALD PEACOCK FESTIVAL I was awarded Gold and at the LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL I received Platinum in the SHORT AWARDS for the BEST ORIGINAL SCORE. That was the kick that motivated me to give my music productions more space in my everyday life. Furhter milesones The two current YOUMAN tracks “Alone” and “Love 2 Love” have made it into the Top 100 of the German Dance Charts (dance-charts.de/djcharts), where they are still ranked (as of May 28, 2024). Both tracks also spent several weeks in the Top 100 of the “Euro Indie Music Charts” (highest placement #32 for “Love 2 Love”). Since February 2024 until now, both tracks have achieved a total of over 500 international radio airplays (W.A.R.M. report). Outlook Since 2023 I have been working as YOUMAN mainly on my own titles, working in the pop, dance and EDM genres. The release of various film music titles from past projects is also planned.
